Chornohora and Marmarosy Ukraine

The hike will last 5 days, during which we will walk 67 km. The hiking route will begin in Dzembron, but we will meet in Lviv at 4 am, get on our bus and go to the Carpathians. We will start our journey from the Montenegrin ridge, where we will climb Vuhatyi Kamen. This mountain has such a name because on the trail, when climbing it, a huge stone resembling an ear can be seen on the left side. Once we reach the top of the mountain, we can see Pip Ivan in the distance and, of course, its famous White Elephant Observatory, which we will climb tomorrow. And today we are going to the place where once there was a tourist shelter, unfortunately, it has not survived to this day. After that, we will set up camp and cook a delicious dinner. The day was full of emotions, so we wanted to enjoy a tasty dinner and admire the starry sky.

We continue our hike today, and there will be many interesting things. Our first point will be Mount Pip Ivan of Chornohora. From its top, we can see the route we will follow for the next two days and see Mount Pip Ivan of Marmarosу. We will take some photos near the observatory, look at the views of Chornohora, and continue our journey towards the border with Romania. Today we have to reach Mount Stig, where our second camp will be located. The route through the Marmaros will pass along the border, so before the trip, we will collect passport data from everyone to get a special permit from the border guards to pass this route.

The third day of the trip will be special because we will cross the Marmarosy ridge. It will look very epic: on the one hand, Ukraine, and the other hand - Romania. Only border posts and columns will remind us not to go crazy and run off to the Romanian mountains. Our route will go through the Korbul - Shchaul - Neniska - Mezhypotoky - Tomnatyk mountains. We will set up a third campsite near the last mountain to spend the night. When we set up our tents in the evening, we will sit around the campfire and play one of our favorite games, Spy. This will be the last night in tents because we will sleep in the cozy cottage Marmaros Rescue Hut the next night.

So we got to the second Pope, but this time it was Marmarosky. We packed our tents in the morning, had breakfast, and set off. The route is incredibly beautiful, with rhododendrons blooming around us and rocky mountains resembling the Alps. No wonder Marmarosy is called the Hutsul Alps. You can see for yourself. The climb to the very top will take place along a narrow path with cliffs on both sides. Adrenaline will boil in your blood, but all your efforts will be rewarded. The views from Pip Ivan Marmarosky's are extraordinary. We will be able to see its Chornohora brother and the White Elephant Observatory, where we started our journey.

From the top, we descend to the meadow under Strunga Mountain, where the Marmaros Rescue Hut is located. This comfortable hut has everything you need, including a sauna. This evening, we will be able to take a shower and a sauna, which is the best recovery after four days of hiking.

It is sad to say that our trip is coming to an end. Today, we are returning to Lviv, but first, we will visit one exciting place - Yalyn waterfall. This is one of the highest waterfalls in Ukraine, where we can take some cool photos and listen to the sound of the water. Afterward, we will go down to the village of Dilove, where a bus will wait for us to take us home. On the way, we will stop to have lunch and enjoy bograch or varenyky.

After the trip, everyone will have plenty of impressions and a little sadness because the trip is over, and you have to say goodbye to people who have already become good friends. We think that after such a marvelous adventure together we will meet again somewhere and go to the mountains.
