Mystery of The Maya Mexico

We arrive in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, and the flight across the Atlantic is quite exhausting, so we go straight from the airport to our hotel to get some rest. Then, we will get to know Mexico City. We walk to the main square of Zócalo (Constitution Square), where many interesting places are nearby: The Cathedral, the famous Torre Latinoamericana skyscraper, and, of course, the Garibaldi Music Square. On this square, you can hear Mexicans playing guitars in sombreros and shaking their maracas to the rhythm.

Mexico City is very large so that you can get around quickly by subway. A few stops from the main square is the Jardin Centenario Green Park in the Coyoacán neighborhood, which is very beautiful, so we have to appreciate the local architecture. In the evening, we will celebrate the excellent start of the trip in one of the restaurants, where everyone will finally get to know each other better.

Mexico has a very rich history, and this history is very different from ours because, until 1498, no one in Europe even knew about its existence. Fortunately, today, we can explore and see the culture of this country. So, today, we are going to explore the pre-Columbian city of Teotihuacan. It is known primarily for its Pyramid of the Sun and a large complex of residential buildings, the so-called “Street of the Dead.”

Teotihuacan is really impressive, and it would be a crime not to visit Mexico and see this city. So, in the morning, we go to Teotihuacan, walk around, see the sights, and learn the true history of the Maya. In the evening, we return to Mexico City to our hotel.

After exploring Mexico City, we are heading to the next city—Puebla. On the way, we will make a stop to go trekking to the foot of active volcanoes. Just so you know, Mexico has more than 30 active volcanoes, and today, we will get a closer look at them than ever before.

We will go on a short trekking route to the viewpoint of Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes. It's incredibly beautiful there, and the snow-capped mountains add even more mystery, as the volcanoes are over 5000 meters high. After the trekking, we will go down to the cars and go to see the Great Pyramid of Cholula—this is also one of the unique monuments of the Maya people.

We will spend the night in a hotel in Puebla, and after dinner, we will walk the streets of this aristocratic city, which is quite different from Mexico City.

To save some time and avoid a long drive, we go to the airport in the morning and fly to the state of Chiapas, the city of Tuxtla Gutierrez. From the airport, we go to the hotel, leave our things, and go to the boats to sail along the Sumidero Canyon.

The Sumidero Canyon is considered one of the largest in the world. When we sail along it on a boat, there will be rocks and jungle around, crocodiles, and many other things in the water. The scenery is somewhat reminiscent of the road to Eldorado from a popular cartoon. It is very exciting to look at this canyon, and therefore, we will have a short hike to one of the viewpoints to see it in scale.

We will spend the night in Tuxtla Gutierrez and then explore the next city tomorrow.

Today, we will have an early transfer to Palenque. This city is known primarily for its location, as it is surrounded by jungle and wildlife, which creates an atmosphere of adventure. Upon arrival in the town, we will check into lodges in the middle of the jungle and see the Palenque temple complex. The national archaeological park has preserved the remains of the central courtyard with numerous labyrinths, corridors, and tombs, so you can understand why this place is one of the most mysterious on the planet.

The rest of the day will be free for everyone. You can visit the eco-park, take a walk around the city, or visit the monkeys who live next door to our hotel.

You've probably already noticed that we've designed the trip so that architecture and sights alternate with wildlife. Today, it's time to see something very beautiful—the multi-cascade system of Agua Azul waterfalls. This is a great place to unite with nature and swim in the cool water.

After Agua Azul, we will see another waterfall—Misol Ha. This waterfall is special because there is a cave under it that you can climb into. This cave is almost invisible—a kind of secret hiding place. After all the walks, we will return to Palenque and spend another night in the lodges.

We have an early breakfast and transfer to Mérida, Yucatán, on our way to the Gulf of Mexico. Mérida is a large sightseeing city with a huge number of architectural monuments and interesting locations. It is also famous for its cuisine, which includes seafood caught in the Gulf of Mexico and, of course, burritos, tacos, and other traditional street food. We will have a little gastro day in Merida.

After lunch, we will go to the south of the city to the Dzibilchaltun temple, one of the most popular attractions in May. We will spend the night in one of the hotels in Merida. We need to sleep well because tomorrow we have senates.

We will spend the eighth day of the trip in Valladolid. The city is definitely beautiful, and you will see it all for yourself. But the main location for today is the cenote San Lorenzo Oxman, where we will spend most of the day. We think it will be very difficult to leave this place because it is incredibly cool!

Cenotes are caves and natural wells in the ground that are filled with fresh and sometimes seawater. Sometimes, cenotes are open, sometimes, they are a complex of flooded caves, a kind of underwater world. In the Oxman cenote, vines hang from the ceiling, and you can swing on them and jump into the water like a bungee. When you try it, you will feel how top-notch this place is. From the cenote, we will return to Valladolid, have dinner, and walk around the city.

As we said earlier, every day of the trip is different from the previous one, and every day, we have something to surprise you. Today, we return to the history of the Maya and go to see the pyramids of Chichen Itza, one of the seven wonders of the modern world. The place is very popular and beautiful so you will get good photos here.

There is a whole complex of different pyramids and temples in Chichen Itza, but a special place is occupied by the Kukulkan Pyramid. You can see this pyramid of the Mayan people because it is the most famous building in Mexico. You can walk here all day, although after such a walk it is worth refreshing yourself in the next cenote, Ix-Kil, it is no less beautiful, and swimming here is a pleasure. We will return to the city of Valladolid for the night.

Today, we will visit the Caribbean Sea and truly paradisiacal beaches, one of which is called Paradise Beach. To see all this beauty and swim in the sea, we will go to the city of Tulum, a resort town that is considered one of the best in Mexico. The sea here is turquoise-blue, the water is incredibly warm, and there are palm trees and paradise landscapes all around.

Tulum is also known for its pyramids, some of the most magnificent Mayan ruins on the Caribbean coast. The trick is that there is a beach right under the ruins where you can swim and sunbathe.

Our day will be busy because we want to visit the Grand Cenote, the coolest cenote in Mexico, and then spend the day walking at Paradise Beach, Turtle Beach, and the Beach of the Ruins until sunset.

The last few days have been quite calm and relaxed, so we want to add some adventure and adrenaline. Not far from Tulum, there is a cenote called Dos Ochos. It is not like all the others because there are underwater tunnels, swimming through which you can access other caves. To explore this cenote, you will need to put on a wetsuit and a mask with fins and go on an adventure. The lost world of the Dos Ojos Cenote will open up before us.

But that's not all. We have a double offer, so you can choose what you like best. Today, you will also be able to visit the X-Care amusement park. There is everything there: jungle nature, an underground river where you can raft, turtles and other fauna, and finally, a grand concert that recreates the history of Mexico with incendiary dances and songs.

Our vacation in Mexico is slowly ending, so we have to have a great time on the last days of our trip! We are going to Cancun, the entertainment capital of the Caribbean Riviera. We will divide the day into two parts: first, we will show you the island of Isla Mujeres. It is small, and it is a pleasure to walk here. We will also visit Punta Sur Park, which offers a fantastic view of the island's top, with blue water and views of Cancun. Isn't it cool?

We will spend the rest of the day swimming and relaxing on the beach in Cancun. Of course, we will also pay attention to shopping, so everyone will have free time to enjoy Mexico the way they want.

Today, we fly home. The flight is scheduled for the evening, and until then, everyone has a free program in Cancun. We go to breakfast and scatter around the city to buy souvenirs. We gather our friendly team to go to the airport for lunch together.
