Lofoten Norway

On the first day of the trip, all participants arrive in Bodø, Norway. Upon arrival, we will go to the hotel and rest, and the next day, we will take a ferry to the Lofoten Islands beyond the Arctic Circle to the town of Svolvær. We will be sailing along the Norwegian Sea for quite a long time because the route is 167 km, but it will be very interesting. The cry of seagulls, waves, Arctic wind, and sea breeze - once the Vikings sailed this way, we now have this chance.

We are in the Lofoten Islands, and today, we start our traveling days! Remember that the islands are located above the Arctic Circle, and the climate there is very changeable; the weather can change by the hour. The Lofoten is at the same latitude as northern Alaska, Siberia, and Greenland. Conclusion: take your equipment responsibly!

The first outing we will make is to Djevelporten and Fløya (Devil's Gate) - a stone sandwiched between two rocks, Frosken and Fløya. These rocks look like a bridge, and you can even stand on it. Many people take their wedding photos here. Here, we will see the famous Svolværgeita mountain - it looks like a hand with fingers.

Then we will leave the town and move to Festvågtind, which offers incredible views of the islands and the bridges connecting them. Next, we will go to Henningsvær, where we will see a soccer field that occupies almost the entire island.

Mountains, sea, and rocks are fascinating, but the combined experience is much more exciting. And today, we will try it all. First, we'll visit one of the most beautiful beaches in Lofoten—Unstad. Surfers from all over the world come here because the waves are constant and quite big. If anyone wants to, they can also try surfing, but it will depend on the weather.

Unstad beach is stunning, but you need to go a little higher to appreciate this beauty. That's why we'll climb the Nonstinden mountain, a high point on the ridge behind the beach that offers views of the beautiful beach and the valley.

We are starting another polar day. To give you an idea, a day on the Lofoten Islands lasts 24 hours from the end of May to the end of July because this part of the Earth experiences phenomena such as “polar day” and “polar night.”

Today, we are planning to climb Mount Holandsmælen - it is not a problematic peak near the town of Leknes, but we will see another incomparable view of the archipelago. Then, we will visit the beaches of Haukland and Uttakleiv, walk a bit, and look at them from the top, namely from Offersøykammen. Norwegians are fond of this mountain and call it ideal for a Sunday hike.

We have already seen a little bit of Norway but have not yet tasted it. Therefore, we will stop by the traditional fishing town of Nusfjord. It is quite small and has only 22 permanent residents, but it is the most colorful place on the Lofoten. Here, they cook delicious dried cod, which we have to try.

On the way, we will visit the beaches of Ramberg and Kvalvika, and from there, we will climb Mount Ryten. The Norwegians describe this mountain as a massive rock that grows out of the sea. From the top, the view of Kvalvika beach is one of the most spectacular that can be found anywhere on the Lofoten Islands.

There are never too many islands so that we will have plenty today. First, let's visit the island of Sakrisoya. This town is tiny and exciting; in some ways, it resembles the island “Dumbass” from the cartoon “How to Train Your Dragon.” Next, we will go to Reine, where we will take a Vindstad ferry to the Bunes beach. The beach is wonderful, so you don't think you have been dragging swimsuits and swimsuits in vain, today we will swim.

We also take a ferry back to Reine and drive to the extreme point of Lofoten, which is short for Å. The village looks like a living museum, where racks for drying cod and authentic fishing huts are found. We will drive the road called “King Ulf V Road,” so today is a royal day.

Our journey is ending, but first, we will climb one more peak. We wake up quite early, but in any case, the sun will shine - it's a polar day, what can you do? So, Mount Reinebringen is the culmination of our trip because it will be the most difficult one of all time. Its height is only 448 meters, but the climb is quite steep. At the top, we will be in for a surprise: either we will see incredible views worth coming to Norway for, or we will return here again. Last time, we didn't see the views((

Then we drive back along the King Ulf road, through all the islands, to the town of Svolvær.
