Aphrodite Trail Cyprus

We are starting our trip to Cyprus. The first day will be short, but it will be memorable because we will meet the group. Immediately after arrival, we drive to the city, where we check into a hotel and go for an evening walk. At dinner, we will celebrate the beginning of the trip and get to know each other well. And tomorrow we will move to Paphos!

We didn't spend much time in Paphos, but it's worth a visit, so we'll be back here again. Paphos is considered one of the best resorts for vacation, and according to legend, Aphrodite was born in this city.

We will start the day with a walk to the archaeological park with monuments from the Roman Empire. We will see the houses of Dionysus, Theseus, and Orpheus, among many other interesting things! After the tour, we will go to the village of Peyia, check into our apartments, and go to Coral Bay. Not far from it, there is a mysterious place—the abandoned ship Edro III, which we will definitely visit. In the evening, we will watch the sunset from Coral Bay.

Today, we are preparing for our traveling days. We pack our gear and get to the start of the route. First, we will enter the Avakas Canyon, a narrow passage between rocks, sometimes so narrow that huge stones will hang over us. This will be one of the best points of the route.

After leaving the canyon, we will have a snack and go to the Lara turtle beach. It got its name because of its frequent guests—green turtles that lay their eggs there. Then, there is the sunset, which we will meet on a rocky ledge with a magnificent view. We spend the night in tents near the beach, so there is no rush, and we can enjoy the spectacular landscape.

We meet the dawn with a delicious and hearty breakfast and get ready to go. Today, we explore the Akamas Peninsula, one of the most beautiful wild places in Cyprus. This place is a national park and a UNESCO site. For thousands of years, the peninsula has remained uninhabited and untouched. Our journey will take us to the middle of the peninsula. You can come here for two main purposes: nature walks and relaxation on the beach, and we will do the first and second.

Depending on the weather and the group's speed, we will choose a camping spot. The first option is near a small old church and a goat farm, and the second option is near Fontana Amorosa Bay. In the evening, we will all cook something delicious for dinner and relax.

We have one more day to enjoy the beauty of the Akamas Peninsula, namely its most exciting areas.
First, we will go to the highest point of the peninsula. There we will be able to see how the sea washes it on both sides. Then we will walk along the peninsula's bays, which are so beautiful that according to legends, the gods used to walk here. That's why this route is called the Path of Adonis and Aphrodite. The trail passes by the Blue Lagoon, which you can stare at forever. We will see the Manolis Bay, the bay with the ancient amphitheater and the Bath of Aphrodite. So, admiring this beauty, we reach the cozy town of Polis, where a soft bed is waiting for us.

After breakfast in the town of Polis Khrysokhus, we will drive short distances to Paphos, where we will spend the next two days.

In Paphos, everyone will have a free program. Here, you can walk along the sea coast, taste seafood, take beautiful photos, ride ATVs, and just relax.

Paphos is a very beautiful resort with many interesting places to see. We will walk to the white lighthouse, take a photo with a pink pelican, go to the amphitheater, and enjoy sunny Cyprus.

In the evening, we will go to one of the restaurants, where we will celebrate the excellent end of our journey.
